Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) focuses on prevention of relapse and recurrence in Major Depressive Disorder. It is a brief, 8-week group intervention that teaches mood-management through mindfulness and acceptance. Studies have shown that the persons who benefit most from MBCT are those who have had multiple depressive episodes, and are vulnerable to relapse, but who are not currently in the acute phase of a depressive episode.

The Emotion Management Program. LLC, is accepting referrals for participation in its initial offering of MBCT, scheduled for Fall of 2007.
